Why are so many people obsessed with their post count???? It seems like the more they have, the more they want and it's like a contest.

If I had 50,000 posts, I think I would want them erased back to zero.

The only time I notice a post count is when it's in a very low number (typically "1") and the poster is writing a detailed complaint about QVC, either under the Q Did What, or under Suggestions. Beyond that, I've never even paid attention to my own count, let alone others.

I do pay attention to new nics with low post counts. It seems like there are those that sign up practically every day with a new nic just to start trouble.

If you think about it, if you take each tally as only one minute spent, someone who's got their count into the thousands has spent a great deal of their life here.

I think that's why a lot of us started noticing them. I really hadn't thought about them before then someone posted a scale of who was top poster for the week or day or month or something and we had fun making fun of that one time.
