Re: Just because you can do it

Lots of things but the first thing that came to my mind is abuse. abuse of any kind, spousal, child or elderly. Sadly it happens just because they can.

I just wonder if they made a movie about killing our President, how would it be received?

Considering it has already been done . . . It might draw a big YAWN.

Death of a President - 2006 - mockumentary - I think it may have even won an award or two. From the UK I do believe.

The Assassination of a President - A Love Story - 2007 - from ??? not sure where he is from

That said . . . I've never seen the movie, the former . . . nor read the book, the latter.

Just commenting it has been done.

Been there. Done that.

Must not have been a mainstream film as I don't remember seeing any trailers about it. Either way, it's reprehensible, though the description I read of it doesn't seem to have been made for a big laugh. I just don't find that kind of thing entertainment.

Re: Just because you can do it

I like Seth Rogen,James Franco, and Lizzy Caplen....ever since Freaks and Geeks. But this movie is not one I would have watched no matter what. Nor would I have even made this morning is if I was a Sony exec. But it was made and Sony should have released it. Or sent it straight to dvd,or cable,or whatever. No way should another country be allowed to call our shots or take away our freedoms. it was "CAT" move by Sony. But if Rogen,Franco, and all the other hollywood actors/directors,writers,etc really want artistic integrity they can't cherry pick. Stand by your movie. Not one of them had the stones to sign Clooney's petition??? Pathetic!!!

Death of a President is a British film by a British director.

CNN and NPR refused to run ads for the film. Two major cinema chains refused to show it.

The Assassination of a President…. I can't find this anywhere. There's The Assassination of a High School President. I'm assuming that is not the same film.
