and another thing, not to side track this thread, but recently I've noticed that my hearing isn't as crisp. I am having my hard of hearing DH repeat things that he said. He has also noticed this about me. Eeek!!!
I am the translator for him when we are out, and the darn young ppl are talking fast and soft. Oh nooo. 😄

It's all commercials anyway. They tell one bit of news then switch to 5 commercials. Come back talk live to one person. 5 commercials again.
Plenty time to go to the john or get some water.
AND......All those commercials for PHARMACEUTICALS. Since when did we get to self-prescribe ????? di

This has been going on for a few years. When you get more than one person on air, Q expects people to talik, interrupt, and act out. On the flip side, they do interrupt when the producer tells them too.

The presentations are too long and filled with useless chatter. Most don't talk over each other, they just all talk too much.

It is fun to watch the other person keeping nodding, nodding, nodding, nodding in agreement. Sometimes they try to open their month.

I am going to cut some slack for the hosts. They have producers at their ear telling them what to say. They have to do what their bosses tell them to do.

Seems to be the new "trend."
we think this because we are old. Didn't seem to be a problem for me when I was younger. Sad but true. Haha every old person I know says that younger ppl talk too fast.
i have this problem currently with my mom and she is 85.
she says we all talk too fast, too softly, sometimes too loudly, sometimes talking "all at once" so she cannot follow the conversation in a group setting.
she says we all need to have closed captioning.
i absolutely believe this has A LOT to do with age!

@coffee drinker As far as I'm concerned you are 100% correct. I can't stand all the fast talk and talking over each other. I hardly watch QVC because of that. It's exhausting!

@coffee drinker I agree with you.
I stopped watching QVC. I used to have QVC on much of the time in the background.
But I am not about to try and listen to two people talking at the same time. They are trying to sell one product but they are competing against one another.
I think the vendors are trying to talk about their product. But the host thinks they are in control of the time slot.
It seems like HSN still has more give and take between vendor and host. And you can actually hear what one another is saying.

I agree that some of the "fast talking" may be old age...
I remember when the QVC Hosts all started it!
Almost like they were instructed to talk faster or else!
It happened over a couple of weeks. Some chose to overdo it a bit!
