I received for Thanksgiving and Christmas season this year two different cheesecakes with one cracked deeply through the middle from side to side. The other was shipped in a cardboard box with no ice of any sort and it was soft and warm. Needless to say both were put down the garbage disposal.
I have bought cheesecakes ever since Juniors started selling them on QVC, but quality control has been lacking for a couple of years now.
After receiving such poor quailty cheesecakes this year I decided not to reorder or order any more Juniors this year. It had already ruined my planned holiday cheesecakes into "zero" Junior's cheesecakes being served or given as gifts.
I do love the " chocolate crunch cheesecake" that Juniors use to make and sell on QVC. It had a great balance of ingredients and got 5/5 stars when I served it. I would definitely give Juniors another chance if they would bring that one back to QVC or sell it at their store.
Juniors has been around along time and I have been one of their customers for along time even in their restaurants but things unfortunately have changed.

Was the cake that was "cracked deeply" still solid and cool? If so, I might have had it for dessert myself.

I have never had a Jr. before but with my love of cheesecake period I would not have trashed it just because of a crack. I would have just filled it with fudge sauce and made a crack a river.

Just making sure you know that any food items from QVC received damaged or not to your liking, you can call CS for a total refund, including s&h, and does NOT have to be returned.
And don't worry about the 30 day return period policy or the extended holiday return period, food is exempt from that.
HTH!

how unfortunate for you. Cheesecake is not something I'm keen on buying via mail order. Junior's cheesecake is still the best. Too bad there is no store where you live. I think shipping/packaging was the problem and not the cake itself.

I would not throw out a cracked cheese cake. Most of my homemade ones crack.
Juniors cheese cakes are good, but I can get a large Pellman cheese cake for around $14 at a local discount store. They are seconds, but I have never found anything wrong with them. They are precut with wax paper between the slices. I just remove how many slices I need and return the rest to the freezer.
These cheesecakes are sold to restaurants and taste delicious.

2 thingies: I thought a cheesecake was supposed to have a crack and do you REALLY know how QC works?

I have a recipe from a Mr. Food cookbook where you throw all the usual ingredients in a food processor, then a pie plate to bake. Out comes a perfect cheesecake with little effort, that you can embellish as you wish.
If anyone wants the recipe, I'll look it up.

@Group 5 minus 1 , You bake it in a water bath so that it won't crack.

My cheesecakes NEVER have a crack! I follow recipes by Life, Love and Sugar(.com)
Using a slow, low cook in a water bath, additional time with the door open and then oven off with the door open among the other many tips she gives on her site,
However, a crack does NOT change the taste and it is ridiculous to have trashed it just for that reason.
They are making THOUSANDS of cheesecakes for their stores, QVC and other retail outlets. it's bound to happen.
Can we PLEASE not say how this or that ruined our holiday???
Keep the reason for the season first and foremost and the rest will be less important.
A late gift delivery, a burnt roast, a bad dessert are NOTHING in the scheme of the things going on.
