Re: July 4th Weekend.... Any Plans?

We'll head up to watch fireworks at the Mackinaw Bridge. The bridge is beautiful at night all lit up. I can't imagine not spending the 4th without fireworks!!

We're going to spend the night. Ridiculously expensive since it's tourist season but, meh, it's worth it, especially if it gets rained out. We'll act like tourists and head over to the island for some fudge and head home on Saturday. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Think we'll grill out on Saturday, weather permitting.

we will be at the beach......10th floor......watching the fireworks over the atlantic ocean. we also host a cocktail party for family and friends. foods and snacks to nibble, margaritas and more, and a beautiful view that doesnt require finding a parking space or trying to find a place to sit. the kids will usually go down to the beach and set up some chairs to watch the fireworks from there.

Re: July 4th Weekend.... Any Plans?

Our first date was 4th of July watching fireworks at the lake.

We got engaged on 4th of July, a year later, watching fireworks at the lake.

We always celebrate 4th of July watching fireworks at the lake. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

We go to a small church & America's birthday is always a big picnic w the congregation. Not sure what to bring this year & I've been reading the Recipe forum for tips. (: Same thing every year & always love it! Happy Birthday USA!!

Oh, I am so used to church pot lucks! Salads or dessert is the easiest, IMO Smiley Happy

(: We have fun. It being small all the families know each other pretty well & we like a good party!I think dessert will be my thing this year (:

If you really don't want to cook, Costco has good sheet cakes, and they decorate! I think you can order ahead or just go in the day before (early) and pick one out. They also have huge dark chocolate cakes that are really good Smile

I took those cakes to church many a time for youth group parties.

We have fireworks but every year we get heavy fog.

LOL so true.....we step out onto the balcony to watch and then come in to enjoy the cool A/C.....it is usually hot and humid during that time.

Re: July 4th Weekend.... Any Plans?

I plan to help my 2 dogs get through the annoying neighborhood fireworks starting the 2nd or 3rd and lasting into the next week until they run out. I'm in a new neighborhood and I hope it's less booming this year.
