The remains confirm the actor died on the mountain.

Sands loved hiking, according to his family.

“When in LA, the Mount Baldy mountain range was his favourite place, he would go there as often as he could,” his brother told UK publication the Craven Herald & Pioneer in January. “Julian liked to say ‘I have never had a holiday but I do rest occasionally’ -- well, he’s resting now in a place he would truly approve of.”

His remains were found on the hiking trail by hikers who notified the local sheriff's dept this past weekend, strange that the search and rescue team who have been searching since Jan overlooked this. May he rest in peace.

Maybe there was snow covering the remains....?

That's what I was wondering too, but he was reported missing on Jan 13 and the search began soon after, granted SoCal was hit weekly with rain and snow storms for several months thereafter, hard to say.....glad he has been found and will bring closure to his family and friends.
