I don't think most people have heard of Julian Sands.  He's  a British actor and well known there.  But not so much here.  If you watch a lot of British TV, well he's always there.  He started out doing a lot of TV and films as a romantic lead.  He's now up in his 60's and has been doing character roles.  Last one I saw of him was a Miss Marple.  

Today I found out they are searching for him.  I read on CNN this morning.  Apparently he went hiking in the  Mt Baldy wilderness area in Southern CA.  They have been searching & fhave found human remains.  So sad.

I don't know what it is but I have been thinking about this actor ever since they first reported him missing up in the Mt Baldy area on Jan 13.  I don't really follow him as an actor, I've seen him in 'A Room with a View,' but that's about it.  Yesterday, on our local news, they reported human remains found while they were conducting a search and cannot confirm yet if it is Julian Sands.  My thoughts are with his family and friends and hope that this will finally bring closure, may he rest in peace.

There was woman who died up there earlier this year. The mountain is treacherous. There have been 15 people rescued off that mountain just this year. Never hike alone. That woman and Sands were both hiking alone.

As a former mountain search/rescue member I believe something needs to be done to keep hikers safe. Improve trails or close the area for hikers.

Julian Sands was in one of my favorite movies, "A Room With A View." It was the sweetest love story. Try to watch it. The cast of actors is phenomenal, including Julian Sands. RIP

I had forgotten he was in Room With a View.  So sad!

@songbird I didn't remember either that he was in Room With a View until I googled, was so surprised. 

He was so stunning and young in that movie.

Have always liked Jullian Sands, and was so sorry when he went missing.   Terrific actor.

I remember Julian Sands in an 80's moving with Rob Lowe and Ally Sheedy, Oxford Blues.  He played the boyfriend of Rob's love interest.

Someone has updated his Wikipedia page showing June 23rd, the day the remains were discovered,  as the date of his death.

That seems unnecessarily presumptuous until a medical examiner's report (and if it is Julian, the exact date of death may only be surmised.)

In any event, one of his brothers has said the family already accepts the inevitable.
