Job interview follow up

It's been years since I've posted for the QVC boards, but I have a situation that I'd like some advice on.

I went on a job interview two weeks ago and felt that it went really well. I was told I would probably hear back from human resources the end of that week. I sent a thank you note that day, but have not heard anything since. I was wondering if it is okay to send a follow up email asking what the status of the position is. Any feedback is appreciated. Smile
