Re: Joan Rivers does it AGAIN with her big mouth

Joan is just Joan. Have you seen the preview of the new season of Joan & Melissa? Joan is milking a cow and while holding it in her hand - she says, I feel like I"m Larry King's wife. HA HA HA. Now that was funny to me.

Also wanted to add, Kathy Griffin's show was faster paced. She didn't pause for very long on each joke. She said it, people laughed and she moved on. Joan belabors the point and she's slower and more deliberate in her delivery.

Why doesn't she say she feels like she's Melissa, her daughter or she feels like HERSELF.

HA HA, foundinlv. I don't know why. Melissa seems embarrassed by her mom though, but it might be just for the show. Anyway I thought it was funny.

Re: Joan Rivers does it AGAIN with her big mouth

I enjoy Joan's show with her daughter, when she's funny selling her jewelry or clothes and in short bits on TV. I've never seen a long show.

There are evil acts that occur in the world everyday, I don't put what Joan says as part of her schtick in that category.

There are very few people Joan would really want to hurt their feelings and she's vocal about that. I think she knows reality from her type of comedy.

Personally I had rather go hear Joan Rivers than Kathy Griffin any day of the week.

Re: Joan Rivers does it AGAIN with her big mouth

Comedy's really, really, really subjective, in my opinion. I've almost abandoned recommending certain entertainment to friends and family because sometimes they give me that "what were you thinking{#emotions_dlg.blink}" look after seeing something I enjoyed... and they didn't.

A few favorite stand-up comics come to mind: George Carlin, Lewis Black, Ellen DeGeneres and Larry Miller (because I just saw an old routine he did about his first experience on the ski slopes, and I could so relate to it{#emotions_dlg.scared}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}).

(Also, as an aside, HBO had a fun show with Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Louis C.K. and Ricky Gervais, called "Talking Funny" -- they discussed what makes a joke funny, why they laugh at certain humor, etc.)

About the Carson/Rivers stories: Close friends of Carson consistently have said he was an extremely difficult, high-strung individual, who reportedly clung to decisions and grudges stubbornly. Rivers was a friend and associate until she disrespected him, in his eyes, by taking the new late-night show and not informing him before the fact. Carson felt she owed a great deal to him and, apparently, never forgave her. All we know is what we see from the outside looking in.

Re: Joan Rivers does it AGAIN with her big mouth

I guess it all depends on who you are and what you find funny or offensive.

They always say a person can be judged by who their friends are.

I would go farther to say what makes your friends laugh. Very telling.
