Re: Jimmy Fallon Injures Hand - Cancels Tonight Show for Friday

Right. They haven't used subs since the days of Carson, and even HE did re-runs.

I don't think these shows want guest hosts. I don't think the host wants anybody to have better ratings than them. remember way back when didn't Johnny Carson start taking fridays off. I'm glad he's ok. On second thought maybe they can call jay Leno back for 2 weeks.

Re: Jimmy Fallon Injures Hand - Cancels Tonight Show for Friday

Jimmy said on Twitter:

"Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing)." Followed by: "#drugged #blessed

So, while yes, he needed to have tendons and whatnot repaired, he's probably at home now resting (very) comfortably.

Two weeks for a hand injury? I hate to think what happened.

He's only taking one day off for his hand injury (today).  He had already planned a two week vacation.

My first thought was he should get a guest host, but I see that is no longer common practice. I grew up watching Johnny Carson and he often had guest hosts.

Re: Jimmy Fallon Injures Hand - Cancels Tonight Show for Friday

From TMZ:

Jimmy Fallon and his single working hand are looking for a little sympathy -- he just gave us a first look at the injury, and an explanation for what happened early Friday morning.
Jimmy's left hand is heavily bandaged and elevated in the pic he posted from his hospital bed. He says his ring got caught on the edge of a table when he tripped and fell at home -- and he ****** near ripped a finger clean off his hand.

Ouch, nearly ripped his finger off his hand.
