The article didn't say how he hurt it or how badly, but he had to go to the hospital for surgery. It says he did it in his apt. He probably cut it or something like that.

Scary injury.

Hope he will be okay and have use of his hand.

He's probably home by now. My guess is he had some stitches, they gave him some antibiotics, and some pain killers.

My guess is he probably cut himself in the kitchen.

He's off for the next two weeks anyway, so when he comes back, his hand will be well on its way to mending.

If he hurt his hand so badly that he needed surgery, this was not a matter of getting stitches and being discharged from the ER. A hand orthopedist was probably called in and Fallon probably cut some part of his hand that needed surgical intervention to prevent nerve damage or tendon damage.

I just read on TMZ that he was admitted to the hospital because he needed orthopedic surgery on his hand but is expected to recover.

I believe he was scheduled to be off these next two weeks but I am sorry this is going to mess up his vacation.

I really like Jimmy. It seems like even with all the success he has achieved he's still the same guy I first saw on SNL years ago.

To me this entire thing makes no sense. In past years, regardless of who the host has been, if they take a vacation, not feel well, etc. they do NOT cancel the show. You get subs and often it is as good if not better than the host. Times, they are a changing!
