I listened to some news about this last night, might have been on HLN. I know they have a panel and they all have opinions on what "might have happened to her".
One thing I did not hear anyone say is that she may have had a "stroke or brain aneurism", which could have been the cause of her 3 day terrible headaches. These can not only kill a person but they also can have you doing things that you have no idea what you are doing.
Most on that panel seem to go with suicide. Me? I think until the autopsy reports come in I won't speculate other than what I said above, which could also be a possibility.

But John, the autopsy results are in, death by asphyxiation. If they do further tests, it would be nice if it was something physical, like a brain aneurism, that made her do it. If the note explained why she did it, & not just saying "I'm sorry" to her family, that would be nice to know, but I presume the family wants that kept private. So sad.

I think this woman was abused, mostly mentally from that creepy husband. He seemed very controlling. She did not want to celebrate her 10th anniversary with him. Weird he knew how she would be found. I read from KOIN that she had to unhook a rope that was across the road, passing a No Trespassing sign, then reattach the rope, which is probably why she was out of her car & 50 yards away from it. She had been dead for days. Now they have a GoFundMe account set up & leftovers will be donated to suicide prevention. They said she did not purchase a lethal dose of pills at Rite Aid so wonder what else she took.

What would cause asphyxiation?

Very sad to hear. I'm so sorry for the children.

Thank you for the update. The show I watched those results had not yet come known to the public, or those participating in that show. What I said was just a possibility before the real cause was known. I was surprised that nobody on that panel even gave a thought to a stroke or aneurism with which persistent headaches can be one of the major symptoms.
Appreciate the update and I will wait to hear further news about this on the HLN shows I record regularly.
What a shame for that family to have to suffer. I would say what I feel about suicide, if that is determined to be the cause, but many don't agree with me so I will not say anything about it.

Since the sleeping pill box/bottle was found empty inside of her vehicle I would guess that she took them all, which would put her to sleep but not kill her (per the article that the amount she purchased was non lethal) then she placed a bag over head and waited to fall asleep. Breathing into the bag would cause the build up of carbon monoxide thus asphyxating the person. Yes I know that there was no mention of a bag found with/on the body but it's the only think I could think of at the moment that makes any since at all.

howwhatwhen - thanks for replying.
This is so tragic. My heart goes out to her family - esp her two sons.

They say suicide is the ultimate selfish act; I can't imagine a mother leaving her small children on purpose; they will be dealing with her abandonment the rest of their lives...there must have been another reason she did this but I can't imagine why.

This is not what happened. She left a note in the car & then HUNG herself. R.I.P.
