Looks cheap. I'm sure it's some kinda bonded or pleather.

It's supposed to be Saffiano leather.  I bought one or two bags years ago from the Dooney line in Saffiano leather.  I don't like it.  It doesn't seem like leather at all.  I won't purchase that label of leather again, from any designer.

@maximillian   I think Saffiano Leather looks exactly like cheap vinyl.  Hard to believe it's leather.  I would expect anything from Joy to be faux.

I got one similar from JM years back. Still hanging in my closet. I don't wear it because it looks cheap. It is stiff like thick plastic and very difficult to reach or put anything in it unless you have a flat envelope and a cell phone. It will not stretch a bit,not even to put your hands/fingers to reach something inside.

I don't like that cheap looking strap. If I bought the navy, I could trade out a strap I have now but I liked the teal. Ended up with nothing.

Like another poster, I bought a bag in Saffiano leather one time and ended up selling it on eBay, because it looked like manmade material and was so stiff.  I don't like the Joy emblem either.
