JLL Parents release a statement

The family of the man accused of Saturday’s shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz., that left a congresswoman clinging to life and six dead, broke their silence by saying in a statement, “there are no words that can possibly express how we feel. We wish that there were, so we can make you feel better."

"We don’t understand why this happened. It may not make any difference but we wish that we could change the heinous events of Saturday,” the statement went on to say. “We care very deeply about the victims and their families we are so very sorry for their loss.”

A neighbor of the Loughners told the Associated Press that the family has been devastated since the shooting and want to know where they went wrong with their son.

Jared Loughner, 22, is accused of a shooting rampage at a town hall-style event Saturday in Tucson, Ariz., that left six dead, including a federal judge, and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who police said was the target of the attack.
