@bonnie f  Yes!!  When JCP has a sale, they really have a sale!!  I love their sheets and don't order any others. Towels, curtains, you just can't beat the quality.  However, I ordered several items prior to the black Friday sale  for Christmas gifts and they still have not arrived, so I am a bit put out with them right now.  Just so they arrive before Christmas, I'll be fine.

Three Memorial Day Sales back I went in there to buy Granddaughter a shirt for the holiday weekend.  The cashier asked if I had one of the $10.00 coupons on me which I knew nothing about.  She pulled one out applied it to my purchase and the shirt cost me $1.67.  My kind of sale.

@bonnie f : Love JCP- worked in gift wrap and credit during my junior and senior year in high school making $1.65 hour- worked part time and worked on Sunday averaging 39 1/2 hours per week. I have to friends that retired with JCP- we went shopping two weeks ago. With the sale and coupons purchase 300 thread count of twin sheet set for $11.99. Southern Bee

OMG @SouthernBee  I worked at ours in '79 and '80 senior year of high school and freshman of college. Like you I worked 39½ hrs. so to remain the status of part-time.  If they bumped me up I would have to start over in not being laid off due to economy ect......  That turned out to be a blessing in late '79 when many were and some there much longer than me.  Three days a week I went to school from 7:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. then to Penney's from 11:00 to after 9:00.  Still found the energy to go disco dancing then back up at 5:00 to wash hair the next morning and start all over each day.

DH has several shirts and sweaters from the St. John's Bay brand that although several years old, are still as good as new and he wears them a lot.  Wish there were a store close to me but there's always online!

JCP is offering good deals for shoppers, but I fear they are cannibalizing themselves as they do.

I've been following their stock for years because I, too, know a JCP family.  The head of the family retired from JCP.  Sad to say, did not sell off the stock accumulated.  Twenty years ago it was worth over $60/share -  just over $1 now.   And both of the children who had followed their parent into JCP lost their management positions. I'd shop there -  just wouldn't encourage anyone I care about to think of a career there.
