J.C. PENNEY CATALOG

J. C. Penney announced today that they are closing the catalog call center in my community because they are discontinuing all catalogs and outlet stores. This is truly the end of an era, the last of the big catalogers gone.

I worked part time at that center for several years and even when I quit in 2003, they were taking contract work from other companies in order to keep the center open. They are also closing a center in the midwest. The closures are effective June 1.
