Finished basements were called 'rec rooms' now I think they are just finished basements.

Screened in porches are now lanais.

you used to shampoo your hair and then use creme rinse.

 

now, it's shampoo and then use conditioner.

Stockings (pre-pantyhose) became legwear which I think includes tights.

 

Girdles or the lighter-weight panty girdles, waist-cinchers & Merry Widows are now all lumped into shapeware.

 

Bobby pins or hairpins?  Buns or chignons?  

 

Styling creams/sprays/gels are now "product"

 

The guy you lived with was the guy you lived with.  Now he's your SO.

We used to have hairdressers, now we have stylists.

Underwear somehow became panties (hate that word).

I've got one that hasn't been mentioned yet.  My Grand Aunt Lil used to refer to the toilet as the commode.

I remember a sofa being called a divan - the "i" is a long "i". It was also called a couch.
