Actually, there was. AOL was in the process of changing their computer system. They kept sending me reminders that I had to do certain things to my Mac. I decided, it was time to change.

Re: It's not easy changing your email address.

There has been talk that yahoo mail will eventually cease to being, though many have used it for years and years and continue to do so. Both Outlook and Gmail has always been advertised as the smarter choice that offers better protection and though I have email addresses with both, I seldom if ever use them. Also if you use an email address from one of the DSL internet providers and then change service they will not allow you to keep your email address indefinitely - that is what I was told.

Re: It's not easy changing your email address.

I had to quit using my AOl email address a couple years ago because I couldn't receive e-mail.   I spend a lot of time on the phone with them but they couldn't fix it so I gave up and quit using it.  It haunts me to this day.  For instance, you can't change your email addy at Amazon without wipping out your entire order history, so I don't get any notifications from them.  There's always something popping up that causes an inconvenience.

Re: It's not easy changing your email address.

I had no problems with QVC when I changed my email address. Didn't have to change my name.

Like you, I switched from AOL. The most tedious part was notifying everyone of the addy change. It involved personal, on-line companies, etc.

Sure cut down on a lot of unwanted emails as I also unsubscribed from several I no longer care to receive.

@Kachina624

I had no problems changing my email address with Amazon.

Changing my email address with a different company wiped out all my history with that company.

Hi @Addie2118 .. first of all, I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know how painful it can  be to lose a dear pet.   Secondly, I just changed my email address to gmail and had no problems.   The only hassle is having to change  it on all the websites I use.

@Kachina624  Have you called Amazon and discussed this with them?  I changed my e-mail address and it didn't wipe out my order history.  Everything went very smoothly.  I didn't notice anything different.
