I would love to have you as a neighbor not only because I'm craving some of your apple cider and canned pears, but because, from what I've read here, I like the way you think! I'm trying to come up with something I can do in exchange for pickled beets. You must have one heck of a lot of fruit trees!
The only issue we might have is...I'm from Michigan, so, crush them Buckeyes!! LOL!
Enjoy your blessed feast and the cooler weather. It is finally cooling down in NC...in the 80's...we had unbearable heat and humidity for three months!

I see @Mominohio. I am just not wanting to rush it. LOL! It has been so hot here lately that it's hard to get yardwork done or much of anything outdoors but I am still in no hurry. But I know it will be here before we know it.
I hope you enjoy all of the fruits of your labors ![]()

Michigan!!!! Oh the horror! LOL
Seriously, Michigan is one beautiful state. Spent some time there several times and truly found the people to be wonderful (now the football teams.....well, let's not go there!)
Tell ya what, let's meet somewhere in between, like Virginia is nice in about another month, and I'll bring you some beets.

I truly wish! I've taken the road trip many times from Charlotte to Michigan...VA is beautiful. WVA, too...I've always wanted to stop a few days in Charleston...let's meet there! I love the mountains in the fall.
I'm proud to be from the heartland...flyover country...a Midwesterner.

First of all, bite your tongue - I don't want summer to end. But...if you want to make me an apple pie, I've got Jersey tomatoes!

Oh no! Please no more 90's! Let's just put some of that heat in the 'bank' for January and February, please!
@Mominohio - I thought they were gone - but the 90s will be back next week unfortunately - I've so been enjoying the fall weather - we get robbed again this year.

We've had some rain both last night and today that cooled things a little but from the weather forecast I'm seeing, it will be back in the 80's tomorrow.
@Qgirl26 We live right about in the middle of the state, north of Columbus.
It honestly doesn't feel much like fall, but all the 'fall' things are beginning to happen with my food harvesting and canning.
@Mominohio I read online that the Country Living (magazine) Fair is going on in Columbus OH this weekend. Have you ever been to it? I have friends who have been who say it's really good. They said you need more than one day to even go through it so they buy weekend passes.

@Pearlee I recently heard about this!
I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to walk a venue that large, as I have issues with my knees, but worse, need surgery on my foot (may be doing it this winter) and just can't walk on concrete for miles any more.
I would love to go, but would probably get in big trouble finding a whole bunch of lovely things I don't need!!

@Mominohio Thanks - I too have a lot of aches and pains that make me not sure how much trekking around I could do. However, it's mostly on grass according to my friends, not on concrete. There are pathways around but you could also walk on grass if you have issues, and there are lots of benches (as well as haystacks) to sit on to rest. My friends are as old as I am so they even mentioned that on their own! My friends said it's full of heavy-duty serious shoppers, who bring not only "wheelies" to shop with but red wagons too! I guess there's a lot of furniture stuff and other big items to buy. Sounds like fun! And Country Living magazine has even set up a little store of their own stuff there for the weekend.

Oh! Grass would be much better. What a bummer. It poured rain here several times today, and last I heard it may tomorrow as well. Wish they had been able to have sunshine and cool temps for such a big event.
I was to a couple of really big venues like this in the distant past, and it is amazing the wagons and things people bring to carry their 'haul'.
Sounds like a fun event.
