regardless of what the calendar is saying!
Last weekend canned 30 pints of homegrown pears. Today we took 25 bushels of homegrown apples to the cider press and brought home 80 gallons of our own cider.
Still have to make applesauce (need to get at least 30 quarts of that too), and pickle and can some beets.
I love fall, but heck, I'm tired and it isn't even officially here!

It's still summer here in the NE, the trees are STILL green. ![]()

Leaves are starting to turn here in Indiana - although @Mominohio - you will probably be getting the near 90 degree weather we are getting also next week. I'll take some cider - please (and applesauce!)

I believe I heard next Thursday is the Autumnal Equinox so you will soon be in sync with the calendar. What in the world will you do with all that cider? Do you freeze any of it? What I wouldn't give for some crisp, fresh apples!

You have the makings for tasty fruit crisps all winter. Yum!

Oh no! Please no more 90's! Let's just put some of that heat in the 'bank' for January and February, please!

What part of Ohio are you in? I'm in SW Ohio and it sure feels like summer yet to me! It has been so hot. I'm okay with it though as I'm not in a hurry for fall to arrive. We've had some rain both last night and today that cooled things a little but from the weather forecast I'm seeing, it will be back in the 80's tomorrow.

Yes, we do freeze quite a bit of the cider, so we get to enjoy it all year.
We share a lot of it with friends and neighbors. Give several gallons to a number of people/families that we exchange favors with throughout the year (like we have a friend that will plow our drive when the snow is super deep, and not charge us, so we make sure he gets a few gallons of cider each year). And today we traded several gallons with my husband's brother, for some fresh Yukon Gold potatoes from their garden (we did grow our own potatoes, but didn't get as many to store for winter as usual).

@Qgirl26 We live right about in the middle of the state, north of Columbus.
It honestly doesn't feel much like fall, but all the 'fall' things are beginning to happen with my food harvesting and canning.
