@qvcfreak Smiling thinking of mom dancing in streets of gold. We live in a two family house, mom was on first floor and my husband and I are on second and third floors. Well this morning I put on a new top and went downstairs to moms and said "well mom do you like my new top". Is that weird?????

Sometimes the strength within you is not a big fiery flame for all to see. It is just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly "You Got This - Keep Going"

Welcome @SandPiper.  So sorry for your loss and so glad you decided to join this crazy group of posters.  If you have been reading, then you know us pretty well. Smiley Happy  I did the same thing.

Stepping down to show your mom was normal.  I do things like that.  Now, i walk outside and look up when I ask.  Then I smile when I get the answer.

It is definitely time for you to start living again, whether it's shopping, a movie, or out to lunch with friends, and a dinner date with your DH.  Buy a beautiful outfit and invite him out to a nice restaurant.

Best wishes to you.

@SandPiper

I am sorry you lost your mother. It's like something of you is missing and it hurts. We have our memories, and while it's not quite the same, they can be comforting.  I welcome you to the boards and hope you find many new friends.  Just avoid those few who are unkind and you will do fine.
