Princess Beatrice Received a Very Unique Birthday Present From Her New Husband | Vanity Fair

She was born on 8.8.88.  At the time it was mentioned it was a very lucky birth date.

What a beautiful picture of her as a bride, @faeriemoon !  8/8/88 does seem felicitous.  Another way she lucked out was in her lovely name, I think-- "Beatrice".   With all its historical and literary allusions.

And isn't it pronounced "Bay-a- TREE-chay" ( or something close to that, in melodious Italian?) Wonder if her hubby calls her that.

Although there's a cycle to everything.  When I was little, my Great-Aunt Beat's name was serviceable, but not considered stylish, at the time!

@Oznell Very good!  Although the Italian "e" is less "ay" sounding than the Spanish, you did a great job with the phonetic spelling!!

I think both sisters were given interesting names, and are probably more stylish now than when they received them.

She is lovely. I just read an article on how stylish she is.

Princess Beatrice becomes more lovely the older she gets.  Her husband just melts my heart.  On the other boards in the Royal section we all just moon over him and the photos they put out of them together.  Marriage and motherhood seems to be making her very happy.

Lovely lady, but didn't think that dress was a good choice.  Perhaps it looked much better in person?

It was a reworking of one of the Queen's dresses, I thought it was a lovely tribute to her grandmother.

It was during the pandemic too, so an over the top dress at a small pandemic wedding would have looked strange imo.
