Re: It must be Fall...flu shots

My Rheumatologist recommended getting the flu shot at the end of October. Just a little 411 - anyone taking Methotrexate - when you get your flu shot, make sure you get your flu shot days away from your scheduled Metho day! Taking it a day before or on the day you takes your dose is really bad!!

Re: It must be Fall...flu shots

I got my flu shot yesterday while I was in the grocery store. I got the heavy duty one for seniors. It absolutely did not hurt. Felt nothing. Ya gotta love that. About the shingles shot. I got mine as soon as they became available. Last year I got a very severe case of shingles that lasted several months. I don't know if the disease would have been worse without the shot, hard to see how, but I would still opt to get it even knowing what happened to me. I have had 2 pneumonia shots, 5 years apart. My pulmonary dr said I needed a 2nd one after 5 years and then no more. I was thinking that the protocol was one, forever, but I did what my dr said.

Re: It must be Fall...flu shots

My daughter was in Walgreens yesterday, saw they were offering the flu shot so she got it while there. She has great health insurance, but their shots won't be available until the end of this month and she's got a full schedule.

IMO it's a really great idea to have them in places like Walgreens, Target & Costco. Saves people a lot of time.

Re: It must be Fall...flu shots

I was offered a flu shot while in my PCP's office for a regular checkup last week. Seemed a little early to me, but I know I won't get one if I don't do it while I'm there--and my next scheduled visit isn't until February.

Re: It must be Fall...flu shots

My husband and I got our flu shots this morning at the grocery store. I don't even have a sore arm. I've had a lot going on today and kind of forgot that we'd gotten it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
