Re: Issue with clowns --- must have missed the memo

It's not "PC" to celebrate Halloween. Eventually Christmas and other holidays will not be celebrated either. Very sad what's happening.

Sadly that has already happened in many schools---Christmas was changed to "Winter Festival" or "Winter Holiday".....but now some schools have done away with even that....

What???  That's not happening where I live, at all.  The clown situation is indeed on everyone's mind, but Halloween is still celebrated widely and happily, in good fun.   Even our pets have their own Halloween community party where I live.

Re: Issue with clowns --- must have missed the memo

It started with a 14 year old boy going around to homes with Thier pumkins out and violently smashing them, throwing hitting with his fists. They caught he on home cameras. It spread from there. After it was on the news other people started to copy him and more instances started happening around the city. Luckily they caught the kid and everything has calmed down. My gk were scared. Kids at school were talk about it. My poor GS that is autisic, was so scared we had to even close the dog door. Anyway I was very happy to tell him they had arrested the boy. GS is OK now.

Oh no, not in the community---there are still Halloween Parties and Festivals going on everywhere---even "haunted houses"....and we even have a celebration called Bark In The Park  with one of the largest pet Halloween costume contests, but this banning of holidays is happening in the schools that I was talking about.....However, some retailers prefer to say Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas....and the community has to be careful where they display anything Christmas....

You're right about it's already happening in schools. How sad is that? I remember Santa Claus and a couple elves coming to school and handing out a Christmas Book version of Life Savers; it was such fun for kids.

I'm talking that, sooner than we think, we will only be celebrating Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, etc., behind closed doors. You know...it may be offensive to someone. *eye roll*  It's a scarry and sad thought.

That's great to hear! Sadly, got an email from HOA last week that there will be no Halloween party (best costume, etc.) this year prior to trick or treating. There's absolutely no Halloween festivities at schools either.

I have never participated in Halloween, Christmas or other holidays but really am not among the chronically "offended" at what others chose to celebrate...or not. Dont care about clowns or other special attention seeking weirdos unless they show up on my property......then they will meet my best friends LOL. Running out in front of my car? I dont swerve so road pizza would be word de jour.LOL People live in fear today and that is what they want. Scared people are easier to cooerce.

Some people are chronically offended when attempts are made to include everyone.  Especially where children are concerned, feeling excluded or "different" is a terrible thing.

I read that there will be a clown ban yet I still see clown costumes in stores.
