I've posted on here before about me losing my job in 2006 and being on unemployment, then lost my house and couldn't pay credit cards or anything. I did go back to work in 07 and worked until Jan of this yr. I'm now unemployed again and fixing to file for SSD. These last few yrs I've only been able to work PT and just barely getting by so I still couldn't pay for anything extra. Many, many ppl in situations such as this. I still am not over losing my house that I worked so hard to buy.
Anyway,Thurs I got served papers in my county for one of the credit cards from 06. It says I have 35 days to respond. Now it's gonna be in paper for the whole town to see and I hate ppl knowing my private business. It's a small town of 3500 ppl. I thought I had read or someone told me along time ago, that they only have a certain amount of yrs to sue you and take you to court. It's been 6yrs. Why did they wait so long in the first place. I don't have anything to give them. they can't garnish a paycheck, cause I don't work. I heard they can garnish your bank account but there's not enough in there to amount to anything. I can always close it I guess and take whatever money is left, out. I plan on using it to pay rent and utilities s long as I can then I don't know what to do.
I was just wanting to see if anyone has been in this situation and could give me some advice or maybe you know someone who's had a similar situation. I don't even know what to say in my response. I mean, what can I say. TIA
