Thank you.
I didn't see the link, and since I don't click onto links, I'll find it on my own. Seems to me that we'd better begin right now to find other areas to grow the cocoa trees. I'm almost sure that there has to be other areas with similar climates. And then, try to 'spread the industry out'. As another person mentioned, maybe in vast hot-houses, similar to the way flowers are grown. We'd better search the earth far and wide, and find other areas, preferable in the U.S. Right now. Don't wait until a week before. Same with dyk*s and dams. Repair them now, not a week before the cracks widen and begin to fail. Jmo.

......... That CRISPR is one interesting device over at UC Berkley. I recall them (via TV) also using it for research re: human genetics and various health conditions, if I'm not mistaken. Don't quote me, and it would take a week or more for me to find my notes. It's worth trying everything we can, considering the alternative. 'Still', if we could possibly find other areas on our planet with similar rain forest conditions, we would be 'ahead of the game', so to speak. At least try to grow the trees in several smaller areas. Every small step helps. Let's wish upon our lucky stars that chocolate will carry on....
