Right after we got Scruffy, I went to the Dollar Tree store and picked up two pet feeding bowls... We give her water in them.. One in the kitchen and the other in the bedroom when we go to sleep..... She has a ceramic doggy bowl for her food.....

My husband started to notice that she was panting too much - even while sleeping and her nose was excessively wet - so much so, that it was dripping... Just water, nothing more.. He also noticed a film on her water but thought it was just from her mouth.... She gets fresh water a couple of times a day, so that didn't make sense either.

Anyway, after a few days of this, he went on the internet and did a search on dogs panting excessively (or something like that) and he found information that said not to give dogs water in PLASTIC bowls because the plastic leaches some substance into the water, which will cause the dogs to pant and have very, very wet noses. I also noticed that these bowls were made in - where else????? China.....

We threw them out and bought two nice stainless steel bowls at Publix and the very next day, the panting stopped and her nose is normally wet, just like it should be....

Has anyone ever heard of this????? I would never have noticed it, thinking it was just the breed, since we have never had Terriers like this before.... {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Now, I'm not saying this is going to happen to every single dog in the world but I'm just putting it out there for anyone who happens to notice this strange anomaly in their dogs (or cats)..... Just something to be aware of... Maybe it's just the cheap stuff from the Dollar store????
