...a nice walk on a beautiful Sunday morning?
...a home-made pie? Mine is constructed of mixed berries (from Costco: the mix is blueberries, raspberries, marionberries) plus rhubarb I just pulled off my rhubarb plant. (Note: Rhubarb is very good for you and the more you pull the stalks off, the more stimulated the plant is to put out more). Just add sugar, salt, and cornstarch; dot with about 1-2 teaspoons of butter, top with crust. Put in a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes AND/OR till the edge of the top crust starts to brown.
Turn the oven down to 350 and bake for about 40-45 minutes, till the top crust is nice and brown.
I must confess I use store-bought pie crusts. Yeah yeah yeah, I know what an uncouth, uncultured knuckle-dragging philistine I am for not making my own but I've never had the knack. My best friend spent hours in her kitchen one day trying to teach me to make pie crust and even she finally gave up.
Doesn't matter all that much anyway; it's the fresh fruit that makes it SO good. I've never been one for sweet, sugary pies; fruit ones are my favorites.
Well, maybe a group of fuzzy little kittens dancing around my feet would make the pie even better but that's the only thing that could.
