The one thing I like is "hearting" a post.  I think it's easier to post a photo.

There's just too much going on and too many steps.

@brii When you try to change your preferences are you clicking SAVE at the bottom of the page?

I don't even get a preferences screen.  I just get a whole page of red Q logos.

There should be one step to quote a post - not two.

I didn't know what the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner were until people started posting about them.  Plus, I didn't have them until Day 2 or 3 here.  LOL

One thing in our lives is constant and that is change. I'm getting used to this, I like the photo insertion system where you can adjust the size. Some other features are not so useful. We'll survive.

I am now getting this today when I click on 'Preferences' also.  It was fine until today and I could edit my preferences--not right now, though.  I'm using Internet Explorer 11.

Another problem that just popped up for me a day or so ago was when I clicked 'post', the whole middle part of my screen went blank instead of going back to the thread to which I had just posted.  I worked fine the first couple of days, then voila!

It's to be expected, unfortunately, that some glitches will occur in the first few days that will affect some of us.  I guess when they try to fix one thing, something else goofs up.  All we can do is bring it to their attention, if we can post!, and then be patient.

ETA:  Wait a minute!  NickNack1:  I just went back to 'Preferences' and scrolled ALL THE WAY DOWN the page and got the preferences settings in between all the other junk.  Have you tried this?  It's a mess, agreed, but at least you might be able to change your preferences.

Re: Is there anyone who really LIKES this forum?

I'll admit I am not a fan of change.  That being said, the other system was so much more user friendly.  IMO, this is a complicated mess and not at all stream-lined.  The "hearts and tags" just seem like a popularity contest to me.  That's OK, I find that the less I am on these forums, the less I spend at the Q!  Again I find myself cheering "way to go Q"!

I think it makes sense that it's 2 steps now since there are 2 options to view the forum (linear or nested)...you can reply to a specific reply without quoting it.  Although maybe they could just put the "quote" button next to the "reply" button and assume you're meaning to reply to that reply if you're quoting it...not sure if that would work or not.

Re: Is there anyone who really LIKES this forum?

There are things I do like - i.e. being able to "heart"/like a post.  Things I do not - the horribly boring colors of the forum.  It almost puts me to sleep just to look at it.  Need vibrant colors and some excitement.  I also wish they kept the sub categories in the forums.  Right now, in its initial phase....I prefer the old forum.  Hoping they take the suggestions and keep upgrading and improving.

Re: Is there anyone who really LIKES this forum?

I don't think it sucks any more than the old format did...it just sucks in different ways Cat Tongue  Like the emoties, ugh.

There were things I liked and didn't like about the old format, and there are things I like and don't like about this one.  I think I like more of the new features than I dislike...I really miss the subforums most of all.  And as far as I'm concerned it's a complete fail as far as making the mobile experience any better.

Re: Is there anyone who really LIKES this forum?

Even though I have my preferences set the way I want I feel disconnected from the other posters somehow. Before the threads and posts  had a flow and continuity now I seem to have lost that. I guess it will get better as time goes on.
