Has anyone heard any fact based recommendations on this topic. So many items on QVC including Honora are made in China given the properties of the virus is it safe. Such confusing times. Thank you.
There was a doctor on one of the news shows a week or so ago, who said he thought by the time whatever we ordered got here from China, that it would be safe.
This virus is so new and obviously they don't know that much about it, I have to wonder. I want to say it would be safe, but really how do we really KNOW?
I guess a lot of us are leaving our packages outside the house for a few days, so maybe with the time getting here and the time we leave it out, it will be ok.

Since COVID 19 is now found all over the world, it doesn't matter where something was manufactured.
Made in the USA or China, the item would have the same risk factor.

Pretty much everything is make in China. If we didn't buy items from China, due to virus scares, there wouldn't be much commerce. Think smart - the virus can only live on a surface for so long.

The coronavirus is very fragile and just exists a short time before it starts to deteriorate. Depending on the surface, at most a few days. There's more of the disease in the USA than there ever was in China. If you must worry, worry about things made here.
I'd much rather wear clothes made in China than pay twice as much for something made in the USA. I have no complaints whatsoever about my Chinese-made clothing.

I'd gladly support American clothing manufactures and pay three times as much.
In my opinion and life, people don't need as much of anything that we tend to have. We buy to buy, and don't even begin to use or use up or wear out most of what we buy. I'd prefer to own less and support American workers (one reason we have moved to My Pillow) and American businesses that fight to keep their manufacturing here.
We started a number of years ago trying to buy fewer imported things, and more manufactured here, when we can find them. It's hard to find some things and when that happens, we seek things on the secondary market instead of buying a new import, when possible.
Some things we absolutely won't knowingly buy from China are food, pet products, work boots (husband needs them for work and finding any kind of real selection of USA made ones is getting harder but we pay up to double to get USA ones) tools (we will resort to older USA made ones second hand instead), otc medications (I've actually taken back otc meds when I see they are from China, and keep looking till I find it made in Europe or elsewhere, or choose something else).
I've also greatly reduced my buying of home decor as almost everything in the stores and here is imported. I don't need anymore, and look for made in America in things like pottery, baskets and again, will source second hand if possible rather than buy new MIC.
Some made in China things I can't find a domestic replacement for are Lock and Locks (I don't like the Snapware made here, I have such problems with the locking tabs breaking and being hard to use).

I think that is doubtful. China is lying. I have been there and I know the people are warm and wonderful, but their government is corrupt. I wouldn't believe anything they say.
Every morning in Beijing and everywhere else..in cities and country sides you can view the people standing outside with a bottle of water and a toothbrush brushing their teeth. They spit into the street. It is much different there than we have here.
