Does anyone feel this way?
Out of all of the holidays, I have never cared for Thanksgiving. Why? Because its a day to over eat and watch football. (I don't need the calories and hate football..lol). And I think people should get together and be close with family all the time (like my family does) and not just make a big deal out of family at the table for one day, and I also think everyone should be thankful every day!. Last and most importantly I feel we are celebrating in a round about way the deplorable treatment of Indians "back then" with the feast.
DH and I will go to a movie and out to eat where we eat limited food and don't have a zillion leftovers, (because my kids and grandkids go to my kids dads family) And late in the day 2 of my granddaughter will come here while my daughtter shops all night (that I LOVE, we build a gingerbread house!) But when I was young and my kids were young I never cared for Thanksgiving. I used to volunteer to work a half day that day (when I still worked).
Maybe I am in the minority and sound like a grouch lol, but I think Thanksgiving is over hyped. I do like the Macys parade though, if that helps. lol.
PS My brother loves Thanksgiving the best, (I was just talking to him earlier about it) but he was born on Thanksgiving. lol. (now his birthday isn't always on T giving because of course the date changes for T giving) But yeah he loves Thanksgiving turkey and football.

And I thought I was the only one who didn't like Thanksgiving......is it Friday yet?!

I'm not really into ANY holidays.
Thanksgiving has been one that's become extremely difficult for me. It takes me almost a week to put it all together. Truth be told, I mostly do it out of a sense of duty. I do it for him, although I do enjoy the foods I cook because I put everything into making it the best it can be...no shortcuts for me, to just make things ok. Everything must be exceptional. ![]()
But this year I'm skating out of all of it due to my broken arm situation. It's kind of nice. I've been doing it for years and it had really become difficult to get through. By the time I'm done I feel half-dead. hehe

I"m not into Thanksgiving either. My mother died 3.5 years ago, and though I wasn't super close to her, she always made it nice. Now, many of my siblings live out of town, and we have no children. I'll probably go to one of my sisters for dinner. It's just another day. Yes, can't wait till Friday, LOL.
I think it's very important to some of my friends with children.

Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. I give thanks every day and I don't need an excuse to overeat. Favorite holiday is New Year's when I am thankful to have made it through another year and hope that in the new year I'll get it right. And if you really want to see relatives/friends, there are 364 other days to do so.

glad to know there are some people who could care less about holidays.
I could care less about holidays, they are just another day of the week.
my dislikes stems back to when dh was in military. he wasn't home for 20 yrs and if he was home, he would have duty so we never really spent any holidays, together.

Forget Friday, is the weekend over yet??? I cooked for 30 years. No family left. Just another day. Going out to dinner, and then Hallmark movies.

Same for me, guess I'm just a creature of routine.

I am "into" this day of giving thanks, but with many of my family members no longer with us, it makes me appreciate these times even more. Very thankful for each day I am still with my wife and furry family and also my life in general.
Some rough roads along the way, but very few escape those things if they live long enough. Hard to forget those days, but my interests are more on the present and the next day.

I will be enjoying my day off from work, not eating turkey, and watching the dog show. That's the highlight of my Thanksgiving holiday 2017. I can't wait!
