Me, too. The Olympics are too steroid driven...and all the commercials BEFORE the Olympics started with the "amateur" athletes when they haven't even won anything yet. Just call it for what it is. It's a dirty event...from the athletes to the venue. Athletes keep getting bigger, stronger, faster....the pretty girls seem to win all the popular events....and everything is about promotion, advertising, ratings. Seems like the IOC knows who is going to win events before they happen.

I watch the events I'm interested in and give the rest a pass. I've gotten up very early twice to watch the US women's hockey team play and am looking forward to their game versus Canada on Wednesday morning. I'd much rather watch the women then the NHL All-Stars that comprise the men's teams, but I'm sure I'll watch some of that as well. I've watched a few of the other events and so far, I prefer the live action on the NBC cable channels during the day rather than the sanitized, edited highlights that they've been airing during prime time.

I love the Olympics (always have)! It is fascinating to see people from all over the world coming to one place to compete, and it's fun to root for your country.

I was watching them too. When I left for work, USA was 6. Did we win?

I was smacked here when I said I didn't want to watch. Some even went so far as to say it was un-American to not watch and that the athletes would suffer if I didn't. They kept waving their flags at me as though they were good Americans and I was a subversive or something.
Well, I DID end up watching last nite as I really love snowboarding and downhill skiing. I don't really care that much what country wins, though, I just like to watch great athletes do their thing.
So I guess I'm still un-American.

I don't watch, never have.

Oh, and I am glad I watched some of the skating (most of which I find to be a crashing bore) to see the 15 year old Russian girl who is just beautiful and superb. A joy to watch.
