I think Stossel might have some kind of permanent injury from when he was smacked in the head back in the 1980's by a pro wrestler. He used to be engaging, interesting and logical. Now he's seems mean spirited and critical of everything and everyone.

When I had my heart attack, I was given a drug that was still in clinical trials. My doctor and the hospital had to get approval to use it on me. I still remember everyone standing back, hands clasped and watching as it was started in the IV and the doctor asked me "on a scale of 1-10, how bad is the pain?" When I put up 4 fingers, everyone cheered. It was the first time it was used by my doctor and the hospital. I was the "Save of the Year" and was on TV 6 months later in a news segment re: heart attacks...... Smile I was also told I made medical history and doctors gave lectures on my case..

I rarely take what Stossel has to say as anything but pot stirring, generalized information, not totally based in all the facts.

While I find that he likes to repeat himself, he's very, very much about the facts. He's really into debunking junk science, too, and I appreciate that as most don't dig far enough into the details. I just wish he could devote an entire show about a single subject.

Lest we forget, tons of testing has to be done, and even then we'll find out over the years that a lot of it has a nasty side effect or two, and a lot of that will have to do with the individual's own chemistry/hormones.

My biggest concern right now is the recent approval of yet another diabetes drug that wears out the pancreas and puts you on injectible insulin that much faster. There are already so many pills that already do that same thing, and yet the drug people keep coming out with more.
