Is This Offensive?

when someone says they are a grandma and you say wow, Really? They were talking about granny knots and she said she was a grandma, I said the above, and she said yes, I have seven grandkids, then said that was offensive. so I have no idea if she was talking about the granny knot or what I said, LOL. can't imagine either being offensive or maybe she was just joking.
