Invitations from the third generation

In the last three months I have been sent wedding, baby shower and graduation announcements. It is getting so expensive and I really don't know the third set of family members all that well. I would prefer to be taken off the list, but afraid I will end up hurting family feelings. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this gracefully?
