We got a little melting of it here in the Chicago area today.

There are so many high piles of snow I cannot see the driveway or street.

It is looking filthy now, the worst time!

I try to tell myself it will help the springtime green and blooming.

Terrier3, I feel your pain. Here in OP/Hamburg it's the same. We get plowed out but with the drifts in the driveway, it's another 2-3 feet of just blowing, drifting snow, the banks at the end of the properties on the berms is at least 10'. And, of course, more on the way this week. We're brave and hearty though!

Irish --- make sure you stop by Orchard Fresh in Orchard Park on your visit here. It's on Buffalo St in OP -- the old Jubilee store. Sort of a mini Wegmans, but owned by Tops! Great stuff and great staff. Schwabels reopened after being closed for almost a year. But if you want a great roast beef try JP's on Lakeview Rd in Lakeview (between Rte. 20 and 5 by the tracks) -- you too T3!!!

Terrier3, did you see where there's a raclette restaurant opening soon on the 500-600 block of Main Street. I know the owners.

Helen852, I was in Orchard Fresh my last visit there! I loved it!!! We always eat at JP's at least once when I visit!!

Move to southeast NC! No snow here, almost 70 degrees today.

That is too much snow for anyone! It's one thing to get a beautiful blanket of snow, and it's quite another thing to get 5' or more. Stay safe, terrier!

Well, I wouldn't want THAT much, OP, but it appears that after having an actual winter last year, the mid-Atlantic is going to revert again to having but three distinct seasons, as has been the case now for far too many years... I like the occasional reasonable snowfall, but it appears the weatherman is once again shooting blanks...

I wish those of you so covered in snow could send some my way! I would gladly take it! We used to have at least two or three fairly decent snows almost every year (by that I mean at least 5"+ for our area)... but almost none at all for about 7 or 8 years now. I'm beginning to hate this NC weather - I could take the summers when we had a good fairly cold winter, but this is getting ridiculous! {#emotions_dlg.unsure}
