I found this interesting study from the Huffington Post that said women these days only spend 2.6 hours a day on household chores (cleaning, cooking, shopping, bills, etc.) as opposted to 50 years ago (in the 60's) when we spent an average of 44 hours a week on these chores.
Of course, we have more efficient appliances these days, eat out more, and many women work outside the home...but even so, somebody's got to do the work. And...women do a lot of chauffering children around too and attending school events...helping with homework. That's got to count too.
What do you think, how much time do you estimate doing household work? I'm retired now so I have more time, but I definitely do not spent anywhere near 44 hours a week on household chores...maybe 3.5 hours a day cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry, and bills. IDK...it's hard to estimate. There are days I am just plain lazy, and I'm not one of those overly meticulous housekeepers. Here is the article:
