Interesting Flyer left in my mailbox!

So....yesterday, I go out and check the mail.  The usual stuff is there, but then there's this flyer asking if I'd be interested in using my home for shooting a television series

The flyer indicates that I'd get a fee for a full day of taping.  It's for an upcoming pilot/ series that will air on NBC.

Searched for more specifics: googled the name of the series, and checked with our Mayor's Office for Film and Television to make sure this was a legitimate location scout.  All seem's well in that regard.  Placed a call to the contact information on the flyer, and waiting to see if I get a call back.  I'm very curious to know how much they would compensate me for a full day of shooting..........

I'd be curious myself.

Is it both inside and outside?

It used to be $100-200 dollars for a (TV commercial), but that was many years ago.  They will inform you before they film.  That is, if someone else on the block didn't call them first.  I'm guessing that they probably chose  a few houses that they felt would be good backgrounds for their filming.  Also, sometimes they use a driveway to store their equipment, and for food and beverages for their crew. Filming a TV series might have a different price range.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I wish some show that rehabs residential landscapes would contact me about using my yard.  We're not looking forward to all the spring yardwork on our acreage.  Keep reminding myself about the beautiful view, privacy, and wildlife.

A local bar and grill was hired to film a movie. I think the owner was compensated for the business she lost during  the shoot.  I don't know what she was paid ,but I am quite sure she made money, or she would have never done it

@ROMARY, I agree.  No way am I the only house they considered.  This is for a tv series and according to the flyer would take one full day of taping.

How interesting,  I would worry some about privacy and how my neighbors felt about it.  Unless it was  $20,000 or more for each day I would personally say no to it.

You also have to pay the IRS do not forget that!

@SeaMaiden this money would be tax free.  Of course, if I were considered, I'd have to think of my neighbors like I hope they would consider me if they are chosen.

@itiswhatitis  How is the money earned tax free?
