Re: Insurance deductibles/choosing a plan....

@granny me

Is this through work? If so, that's on your employer for skimping out on their employees.

If this is through ACA, you need to check out plans other than bronze. People with high medical bills spend far less with Gold or Platinum plans.

Why didn't a 27 year old have insurance?

She was doing people's hair at home, under the table - she wasn't paying any taxes , SS or anything. She didn't believe she should have to pay into these things - until she got sick and needed them - now it's a different story.

If she wasn't paying taxes, which is beyond my comprehension, she should have had more than enough to pay for health insurance...

Well, comprehend this - people who make less than a certain amount do not have ton pay taxes - it is called living in poverty. Just be thankful it doesn't apply to you.

I cannot fathom what is "immoral" about Medicare...

I wonder what will happen once it gets privatized?

That will never happen...people LOVE their Medicare and have paid into it for all their working lives.

We need to be vigilant - no "1985" or "Animal Farm" propaganda can pass as "reform."

Supposedly it's supposed to start happening in March.  I read an article about it the other day in a legitimate newspaper.  I'm sorry I don't remember which one.

That's the discussion - but that is also the opposite of what was promised.

We all need to be very vigilant and very vocal.

It's too late to think you can control what will happen now - you all chose and now will have to live witrh your decision.

No, we need to vote because for those with a proven record and not those who've made clear who they're beholden to.
