I’m looking to buy one for my son, but I am so confused as it appears there are several different models. Can anyone help me me please?

There are many different models and several sizes to choose from. Models have more pre-set buttons and bells and whistles as you go up in price.

If you don't know what he wants to use it for, a Duo SV or Duo Plus is probably a good place to start. A 6-quart is a pretty good standard size that will fit a whole chicken if he wants to do that, where a 3-quart might not. If he has a family, the 8 quart might be better.

You can read about each model on the Instant Pot website, then come back here to see what's on sale. You can also Google "Instant Pot Comparison Chart" and find a comparison chart on their site.

You can also check Good Housekeeping's article called The Best Instant Pot Models of 2019. They have sales links, so I can't paste the article link here. They recommend the Instant Pot Duo as the best overall and the Instant Pot Lux as the best for a beginner.

@ Alisinwonderland

Thank you for response and poster‘s question. I thought I had read some comparisons but couldn’t remember where. Now I have good start.
