I just used Instacart for the first time for a few minutes ago.

Am I supposed to tip the driver when they get here?  If so, any suggestions on how much to tip?

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

My SHIPT girl told me, "If you give it to me, I will spend it.  If you put it on the bill, it is in my paycheck and I will spend it.  Doesn't matter"  I tip15-20%.

It is a grocery delivery service.

There are different names for them.

So far, the app shows that someone is shopping my order. There is nowhere to tip on the app. I assume once it’s been delivered, that will change and I can add it to my order?

15-20%????  Yowza. My order is about $115. I’m not tipping $25.

Ok,  so this will be my one time use of Instacart. They already have a $10.59 service charge added. Zero for delivery because it’s my first order.

I would giv $5 or $10 to the driver who brings them into your house.

I don't understand a service charge.  Never had one from SHIPT.  When I go back to the sight after delivery, I get a screen to tip.  I use the computer, not the app.  My orders are small, thus my tip!  You don't have to tip so use your own judgement.

i have never heard of SHIPT or INSTACART. we do have PEAPOD delivery service through GIANT and they do charge a delivery fee.

"If you buy more than $100 in groceries, your delivery fee is $6.95. An order between $75 and $100 has a $7.95 delivery fee, and an order between $60 and $75 has a $9.95 delivery fee."

one of our local independent grocery stores also deliver and charge a flat rate of $10. if we get special orders from them we always tip the driver $10-$15.

If there is a delivery fee then why do you need to tip..wouldn’t that be considered a tip.

my GUESS is that the delivery fee goes to the store......for wear and tear, gasoline, and insurance purposes on the vehicle.
