Hi,

Would like to ask for your warm thoughts and prayers as I try to trap an injured cat tonight.

One of the feral cats that I feed in my backyard is not walking on his front right paw. He is struggling to get around. He is a long haired black, neutered male and pretty wild.

The rescue group I work with has promised me that they would pay for his vet bills if I can get him to the vet. I have a friend coming over tonight to help me drop trap him. I am worried he may not be able to get to my house.

I am leaving my back gate open so he doesn't have to jump a fence to get into my backyard to eat. He has been coming around 8:30PM, but is coming very slow, trying not to walk on his paw.

If it is badly injured, we may have to euthanize, which is better than him suffering. If it is something he can recover from, I am willing to cage him at my house as he recovers.

I will let you know what happens, but the first step is trapping him. I pray he is well enough to get here and hopefully, I can do the rest of it.

Thanks so much!

I went through this with a feral cat. Trapped him and off to the vet. He had an abscess.

I spent several hours in my shed, waiting to trap this cat last night.

He never showed up.

{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Hi! When I saved my 2 kittens, who are now 12 years old. The female, Bonnie, was a nervous cat. I placed a water running fountain in the bathroom on the toilet to help relax ans calm her. It helped!! She actually started to go in the litter box. She would never go out of the box, she would just hold it. But, after a few days, she started going, and it was never a problem again. Clyde enjoyed it too, because he tried to play with it. LOL. He was the curious cat, and she was the scaredey cat. LOL. Try it. They have a couple in the gardden centers here, or you can make your own from a bok from Home Dept, maybe, right?

M42938 Buy more and save more. Try it, and look at the others spinners and water fountains. Something to calm the animal helps, and maybe it will help, and help you as well with your husband and family.LOL..

I hope it helps !

Good Luck,

Nanci

Hi lvenjay...

Just checking in to see how the kitty is doing and if you've made any progress.

Bless your beautiful heart for all of the compassion that you're giving to this precious boy.

I was unable to trap him and take him to the vet.

However, I did see him last night, limping in to eat. He will not use his injured paw.

If I can find someone to help me again, I will try to drop trap him.

The vet said if the paw was broke, they would have to euthanize him. If it is bit and infected, he can take care of that and I would keep him in a cage while he heals.

This is a wild, feral cat.

Thank you all for your warm comments and well wishes!
