Native American.
My assistant is a Seneca...a good friend is Objibwa.
I asked them both which they prefer. They both said Native American, native or aboriginal.
They BOTH had similar stories from their grandparents - they said that Columbus' mistake stuck them with a mis-label forever.
Both are active in their tribes, pow-wows, etc.
But BOTH also said that at home they will use the word...as in "Is he Indian?" because at home they know there is no way to mix up the meaning.
There was a post regarding this several weeks ago...I asked them for their opinions.
