Yesterday was garbage/recycling pickup. My recycling can disappeared. I have lived in this small townhouse community for seven years and never before has my recycling can disappeared. This makes no sense. I've looked around and knocked on a few doors with no luck.
I'll have to wait until next Friday to find the culprit.
@PickyPicky3 Was it missing after they picked up the recycling? Most likely the can fell into the truck. That happened to me several times over the many years. You need to call them and they will bring you a new can if this is the reason for it missing

Our recycling cans are emptied by hand by the driver. I'll wait till next week.

She's been dead a long time, but we once had a neighbor across the street who could give Gladys Kravitz a real run for the money. The house is on a hill and the breakfast nook faces the street. She would sit there and keep tabs on everything, calling me to report on what our kids were doing outside...playing and using their imaginations, digging, collecting sticks, building a fort, having sword fights with the sticks, on our property! She would often call on Mondays to query about what we did on Sunday because we left for church at such and such a time never came home until...
One March we had a terrible ice storm and extensive power outages in the region. She called the morning the power went out, to tell me her mother was freezing. It was anyone's guess how they were going to get down their driveway, but I told her to come over because we have a fireplace. So the two of them and a visiting 20 yr. old granddaughter all embarked shortly and proceeded to park themselves. My DH and our boys were working outside throughout the day to bring in more wood, and buckets of snow so we could melt it for flushing the toilet. The visiting granddaughter didn't lift a finger to help. Meanwhile, the guests wanted this and that, and JLF's restaurant opened for service. What an ordeal (glad I didn't grow up in pioneer days)! By evening, they were going home to sleep in their own beds. Early the next morning, I had talked with my sister who invited us to come to their house, about an hour away. I let the neighbor know we would be leaving and she got mad me. 🤦‍♀️ Just as we were getting our things together for a night or two at my sister & BIL's, the power came back on. So it ended up that we could stay home. We ended up going to town for breakfast.
Not nice to say, but I don't miss her. 🤷‍♀️

My next door neighbor and the one across the street think we all like the same music. They’re both loud as if competing against each other and start early into the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes I go watch tv in my bedroom to drown the music but when tv goes off, it’s back.

@qvcfreak is it the same type of music or everyone is doing their own thing?

It’s different music @Sage04. Sadly none of it is anything I would listen to. And the ones next door sometimes pull out the accordion and play along with the music. I’m NOOOO

We participated in a park clean up so there was a lot of noise from chain saws but I didn't observe much in our neighborhood today. @SeaMaiden had me wondering why anyone would want to live in her city. Hers was by far the most depressing story. The one about the cousin watching her house was strange too. It seems we all have some good and bad things going on.

One day in my neighborhood, about a year ago, I saw a large, full grown deer running down my street on the pavement. I live on a city street very much in the city, with no nearby woods. Can't imagine where he came from or was going to.

@AuntG I grew up in this area....and have lived here most of my life. The past few years have been painful to see my beautiful city turn into a drug infested homeless incampment. On the public transit.... busses etc,... people camp out there and smoke crack and fentanyl...filling the busses with the toxic smoke. Nothing is done...no policing at all...
