No kidding. And are these worn all day? How often does one change them?
Tampons are not the healthiest way to go as it is. Maybe these work for those with this type of condition and to a degree they make sense but they seem unhygienic to me.
It is no different than using a tampon. They are not uncomfortable. Why would these be? They are probably more hygienic than regular tampons used with a period. Plus, you would change them I am sure at least twice aday.

They seem to be terribly expensive to me. I believe I saw a box of them at Walmart and it was $13.00 for a box of 10.
Yikes! Even if you just used 1 a day that's almost $40.00 for a monthly supply. I suppose if your condition was bad enough it could justify that expense. If you just have a little urine release when you sneeze or cough I would imagine the Poise pads would work just as well at much less cost.

Comments by some users on the website say they did find it uncomfortable, difficult to remove, caused bleeding, difficult to get correct size. Of course Poise countered with the perfect excuse/reason in every case - but I can't believe that every complaint or issue was the user's fault.
At the rate given by another poster, if changed twice a day that would be nearly $80/mo. Pretty expensive tampons.

We have enough people policing this site, we don't need to police each other!

I'm starting to get Tinker. She's not policing I believe. She is saying in a blunt manner that if one were to be looking for this issue in the forums, CC wouldn't be the first place to look.
I know you are perfectly able to state that matter yourself @Tinkrbl44. Don't rip me for jumping in. ![]()

No chance, and thank you!
I find it rather strange that people can be so oblivious to the categories set up for a reason. If you want to talk about jewelry or beauty products or anything ..... there's a section. If people want advice or comments, it's just plain common sense to place your thread where people follow those things. Some people are just clueless, I guess.

@Cakers3 The answer has been posted already. See message #17 above.

A number of things can bring it on. There is a good explanation of it on the website of the GYN that did my surgery. The Center for Innovative GYN Care (in Annapolis).
In my case, it was not weight, but childbirth and aging.
The vaginal wall and overlying connective tissue provides the urethra with a stable supportive base upon which to rest (hammock theory). During exertion, sneezing, and coughing, the urethra is compressed against the supportive base to prevent the leakage of urine. Pregnancy/childbirth, aging, and repetitive stress on the pelvic floor (heavy lifting, chronic cough, obesity) as well as genetic factors can lead to weakening of the urethral support structures. When the urethra loses its support and is not compressed during exertion, leakage of urine occurs. This is called urethral hypermobility and is the most common cause of SUI. Neurologic dysfunction, which affects the tone of the pelvic muscles and urethral sphincter, can also lead to SUI.

Ok, I'll fess up. I have a prolapsed bladder and when I have a really bad cough, I need to use protection because I leak,
I saw this product around Christmas time in K-mart and bought a trail sizing box. I got 6 units, 2 of each size.
I used the smaller one first as directed. I have to say that it did work, however it hurt and was very uncomfortable. I wore it for about 4 hours before I had to remove it. I couldn't stand wearing it any longer.
i have used tampons all of my life successfully, but couldn't wear these.
I cut one open to see what it was made of and found a hard plastic core that bent when inserted and opened up when worn. No wonder it was uncomfortable.
I still have 4 units left and wish I knew someone else who wanted to try them. They were expensive and I would hate to just toss them. I will not be wearing them again.

I have SUI, and when I heard about them over the summer I was intrigued, but didn't think much of them. Then flipping through the channels ran across The Doctors talking about them. Granted Dr. Berman is sponsored by them, I respect her opinions on the topic of women's health. This has a video from that episode.
