Has anyone ordered from ‘Imperfect Produce?’

They are just beginning to service DFW.

Love the concept of ugly fruit/veg...they need love too!

@sidsmom---yes---I did for about 2 months. It was fine but never had much of a variety it seems, altho it is winter  now and not much available yet. I had a few things that came moldy--green beans and a few cherry toms too. But was credited for that. The veg/fruit were ugly and misshapened but no big deal over that. Now you can order a lot more non produce things. I got mine every other week for us 3--ordered the small box and it was plenty. Would I order it again--I think so, maybe this summer when more variety is there.

Surprised that they even charge.  Growers traditionally allowed the poor to pick up the imperfect fruits and vegetables for free.   It's still done today.  If they are given permission to go on their land.

@songbird--oh this company does alot with the money they charge. they don't just pocket it.

No.  They're not in my area.  They seem to track Salinas Valley type conditions, or,  ports of entry.

@sidsmom----it really isn't that over priced for what you get. It is all loose in a cardboard box, no wasted plastic bags to worry about. I think the mushrooms came in a paper bag tho. the best thing I had was the the romanesco cauliflower--you know the green one with the points on it? That was so good cooked up. and I enjoyed the fennel too. Yes, I definitley recommend trying it.
