Re: If you have a senior cat question

Is your cat a small cat? That amount just doesn't sound like enough to me, but your vet would know if she is maintaining a proper weight. If she has changed how much she eats in just the last month and really doesn't want any more than that, I would definitely get some blood work done to determine if she has a problem. My 15 year-old baby has had kidney disease for the last 2 years and 10 months and gets subq fluid treatments twice a week to help flush toxins out of her kidneys. She's on a special diet, but I mix the diet wet with good tasting Fancy Feast or Friskies to keep her eating. She has to maintain her weight, so I give her as much as she wants, which is usually about 3 full teaspoons of wet along with maybe a tablespoon of dry 3 times a day. She's a fairly small cat, weighs about 8 lb 14 oz and has been maintaining right around that mark for quite a while. My animals are like my children-they go to the doctor whenever they don't seem to be acting right or eating right. You just never know - better safe than sorry. Good luck!

Re: If you have a senior cat question

Missy is eating better. She comes up on the sofa arm when she is hungry. Sometimes she goes back to her food. Different Friskies. Also the dry is left out at night. She is not losing weight.
