My 7 year old cat has been ur*nating on my front hall throw rug. I threw it out and he started doing it on the paper towel in front of his litter box. This had been going on for a few days. I cleaned everything thoroughly each day. He was also over grooming and pulling his fur out in areas. He has been diagnosed with a bacterial bladder infection! Poor baby couldn't tell us so he had to show us! The Vet said that his reactions are very common.
So if your fur baby kitty starts having accidents outside his/her litter box, call the vet. He is now on antibiotics and has to have canned food (to up his fluid intake) as dry food takes too much fluids to digest. Just thought I'd share.
