@CrazyKittyLvr2 I hope that we have the same forecast in my area for Wednesday. I feed our cat colony on Wednesdays and Fridays, and after being out in the heat, dodging and chasing buzzards, and climbing under all types of bushes, I am drenched. Low humidity would be most welcome, so I am sending a good thought for that.

Monsoons?
If you don't think I'm being too much of a nose box - where do you reside?
I usually think of monsoon season as being prominent in Southeast Asia, or the African coast & the Central Americas too... are you THAT far away right now?

We have a hurricane forming in the gulf, so as it comes ashore south of Houston, that usually means lots of rain going north up to us in dfw area....we need it; our lawn is crispy and my once-gorgeous flowers on my patio are looking pathetic; am ready for fall...two pots of mums I had forgotten about and put on the side of the house have burst into bloom!

I am in California and our weather has been good. Warm, but ocean foggy in morning and evening. June gloom arrived a month late, lol that said, I do know how the constant heat can be miserable. In 2014 July was the worst to me. We actually had recorded temps here of 114. It did NOT cool down at night. We had no air conditioning then. Most of my town and parts of santa clara county had power out for nearly a week! I was not affected but my daughter accross town a mile a way was. 4 days in blistering heat they did without power. By the way, she lit a lori grenier candle in bathroom, and it exploded and wallpaper caught fire. Luckily, they were by there when it caught fire!
day after day, the heat went on i was so miserable, one day I just cried. We had fans but they stirred warm air....but at least it was a breeze of some sort. The humidity got so bad at one point the sweating had me having to take potassium I was so weak, andlight headed. I feel so badly for people older than my 72 years, that are infirm, with little recourse in seeking cool areas. At that time our local grocery store cranked up AC and put chairs and a lounge chair inside store the senior center took in seniors for heat relief.
i hear your pain @CrazyKittyLvr2 Believe me .

@MoonieBaby I'm near Albuquerque. Both Arizona and NM have a seasonal monsoon season starting about July first, when rains come up from Mexico. Often they occur daily, at least in some part of the states and bring the majority of our annual rainfall. Often they are torrential downpours. Monsoons aren't just a tropical thing as we're all high desert. Live and learn.

much prefer to have windows open!
I still leave a window or two open a bit (away from direct sunlight) even with the air on. I love to hear the birds, there's always music out there!

I'm glad to have learned something important that I otherwise would not have known about the great USA and it's unusual weather.
Thanks @Kachina624 - you rock!
Please be safe during the torrential storms, you and your family and pets - be safe!
