Is there anywhere in the contiguous 48 states that has a close to ideal climate? I think I mean no frigid temps in the winter, no broiling heat in the summer, adequate rainfall but not to rainforest level, and reasonable humidity levels.

Reading a previous post about today's temps makes me wonder if we even have a Goldilocks type area that is "just right."

I remember years ago that San Diego, CA was touted as the most temperate climate in the continental US.

I've always heard San Diego also.  The trouble is a perfect climate gets very boring.  Give me four moderate but definite seasons.  That's why I like Albuquerque except that the past few summers have been uncomfortably hot.

My dad always thought the San Francisco Bay area was the best. He loved to ride his motorcycles and could do that just about every day. Rarely was it hot enough to need air conditioning.

I think San Diego is considered to have the "ideal" climate.  Of course, there are earthquakes, mud slides, fires, etc. etc.  DH and I have given a lot of thought to where the ideal place for us would be to live and in all honesty, we can't think of a single place.  Everywhere has some sort of problem.

@Sooner   I have been planted in the same spot for nearly 53 years (since) married, getting too old to have my petals frozen off every winter and cooked in the summer.
